Hydration is more than water
Water is essential, but hard training also changes your electrolyte needs. Sodium, potassium, magnesium, and other minerals help support fluid balance and muscle function.
When training volume is high or sessions run long, plain water may not be enough to make you feel fully replenished.
Performance feels different when hydration is dialed
Good hydration can affect how steady a workout feels. It can support better pumps, smoother effort, and less of that flat feeling that shows up when you are under-fueled or under-hydrated.
That is why hydration belongs in the same conversation as pre-workout, especially for athletes who train often.
Use electrolytes with purpose
Electrolytes are especially useful around sweaty sessions, evening training, long workouts, hot gyms, or days when your food and water intake have been inconsistent.
The goal is not complexity. It is a repeatable routine that helps you show up ready.
